This games helps the children to learn their timestables by knowing the different multiples. the children have to pop as many balloons in their chosen times tables as fast as possible. The children then have fun trying to beat each others score.

2A working in teams to plan our end of year class party.
In maths this week we have been learning about money focusing on English pounds and pence. The children have impressed me with their coin recognition and making different amounts. Yesterday we looked at making amounts over £1 and using the pound sign and decimal point notation to record our answers. We then used our knowledge of counting in 2's, 5's and 10's to add amounts mentally. The children learnt different strategies to add amounts quickly for example starting with the biggest value coin first. Today I set them a challenge to plan our end of year class party. The children worked in small groups to plan what food, drinks, snacks and extras they would want at their party and then had to budget accordingly. The children were given a budget of £100 to spend and were not allowed to go over - they loved the challenge and showed great team work in completing the task. Here is some photos of them at work...
