 Trying to make some sentences using magnetic Phonics letters!

 Children then tried to solve questions involving fractions of numbers in their exercise books.

 Mr Chave's phonics group  learning alternative pronunications of the letter U. For example, how the letter sounds in words such as 1) but, 2) unit and 3) put. Children tried to give their own examples before giving a sentence including some of the words.

 Now having a go at sorting the words (bananas) to the correct letter sounds (monkeys) on the board.

 2C love Show and Tell talking about things which are special to them! A great way to build confidence along with Speaking and Listening skills.

 Natural History ECA learning about Totem Poles and having a go at making them!

In English, children have been developing their use of descriptive language by looking at some fruits and vegetables (pumpkin, cabbage, avocado, dragon fruit, pear, banana and apple). Children came up with adjectives to describe them thinking about using their senses to think how the objects look, feel, smell, taste and sound.

Revisiting quarter and half turns with clockwise and anti-clockwise movement. Using an analogue clock face on the carpet,  children practised turning the correct direction and amount as instructed. Thank you Sasha for the use of your pink watch! Children then learnt about the points on a compass before trying to solve word problems involving turn and direction. The children used a cut out figure to help them orientate to the correct compass point.
