In English, children have been developing their use of descriptive language by looking at some fruits and vegetables (pumpkin, cabbage, avocado, dragon fruit, pear, banana and apple). Children came up with adjectives to describe them thinking about using their senses to think how the objects look, feel, smell, taste and sound.

Revisiting quarter and half turns with clockwise and anti-clockwise movement. Using an analogue clock face on the carpet, children practised turning the correct direction and amount as instructed. Thank you Sasha for the use of your pink watch! Children then learnt about the points on a compass before trying to solve word problems involving turn and direction. The children used a cut out figure to help them orientate to the correct compass point.
