In literacy we have continued looking at the traditional tale, Little Red Riding Hood with a focus on questioning. The children worked in small groups to come up with questions to ask the characters from the story. Some of the children volunteered to act as the characters to answer the questions, which I was most impressed with. The children are growing in confidence and building good peer relationships, which is lovely to see.
Today the children were presented with problems that each of the characters from the story encountered, for example the wolf asked the question, "How can I make friends?" The children worked well in pairs and came upon with some creative answers. Some of the children reflected on their own experiences which was interesting to hear about.
In science we have been looking at different materials. In today's session we investigated the different materials we see in every day life. We went on a tour around school to see what different materials we could find. The children thoroughly enjoyed themselves and soon realised that different materials are all around us.
