Partitioning numbers in 2C!

In 2C this week, children have used dice to create their own two and three digit numbers in order to then partition them into their hundreds, tens and units in a number sentence. After rolling the dice to create their numbers, children then wrote the corresponding number sentence to demonstrate they understand the value of each part of the number e.g. 431 = 400 + 30+ 1. Some even had a go at thousands! This work reinforces our earlier learning regarding place value well.

The children really enjoyed using the dice to create their random numbers. Mr Chave was not sneaky enough to catch them out this time! We hope you enjoy seeing them in action.
