Year 2D Puppets, mental maths, iPads.

This week in 2D we have looked at the story of Little Red Riding Hood and told the story using puppets. The children then went on to write their own versions of the story with a different setting.

The setting we chose was Hong Kong and the children had fantastic ideas so instead of walking through the forest Red Riding Hood was walking through the city and using the mtr. Instead of taking cake and fruit for Granny she took ice cream, pizza and chicken. instead of living in a cottage Grandma lived in an apartment and even in an underwater house with a submarine to travel with!

We have been using 100 squares and number lines to add and subtract 1's and 10's. Work has been done in maths books and on whiteboards. On Friday we used iPads to do maths quizzes to revise what we had studied this week.
