2D and the Vikings

As part of our Oceans topic we have been learning about explorers through history. This week we looked at the Vikings and had an introduction lesson looking at some artefacts from the period.

Firstly we looked at a BBC website game involving artefacts and how they were made and used. Next we looked at pictures of some of these and other artefacts and the children wrote what they thought the artefacts were and their uses.

Lastly we compared these objects to modern objects with the same uses and asked, "What do these artefacts tell us about the Vikings?"
