2C Animal Habitats, Number Fact Families and Information Texts

                                                   Jessie enjoying her birthday!

Learning about animal habitats and trying to match up animals and their specific habitat.

Learning how to write number fact families! By using a number sentence such as 12 + 8 = 20, children will then write 3 further number facts using the same numbers. Two addition and two subtraction number sentences complete the number fact family e.g.

 8 + 12 = 20
20 - 8 = 12
20 - 12 = 8

This helps them understand the inverse relationship between addition and subtraction better.

Using iPads to research ocean animal facts and fill in fact cards!

Turning their ocean animal fact sheets into non-fiction information text posters. Trying to be creative in their layout and ensuring that they included as many features of information texts as possible e.g. title, subheading, pictures, diagrams, labels, captions, fact boxes, questions etc.
