2D Maths and Cupcake Fish

The children returned to school rested and ready to learn and there has been a wonderful atmosphere in the class this week. They were very enthusiastic about our new theme Oceans and we began to make cupcake fish which we will display on the walls.

We began a unit of work on information texts and this week looked at the features of this type of writing, including how the text is organised and presented to the reader.

We also worked on addition and subtraction problems using hundred squares and mental strategies to solve them.
