The children have been flexing their creative muscles this week. After having learnt about the features of information texts and reading about lots of different animals, the children have designed their own sea creature. They thought about what it looks like, how it moves, what it eats and what interesting and gory ways it might kill you.
The children started this topic off by describing some creatures given to them by Mr Oak. They worked in pairs and were set the task of telling their partner all about the creature in front of them. After a few minutes practising what they were going to say, they filmed each other with the ipads describing the creature. The children were really motivated by this task and some of them put on their best 'TV voice' in order to talk about the creature.
Next week, the children will present their own creature to the whole class, which I hope to film and share with you.
