2D Stories and Symmetry

This week in 2D The children have been working on symmetry in maths. They started off by looking at reflective symmetry and used mirrors to help them repeat patterns on squared paper. Then they moved on to finding lines of symmetry in 2D shapes and lastly they used an iPad app to test what they had learned. I was very pleased with the way they collaborated with each other and discussed their work.

We also used storyboards to plan stories using words and pictures and focused on using traditional story language, adjectives and time connectives like first, then and finally to enhance the writing. We then used the storyboards to write a story. the quality of the written work across the whole class has improved steadily this term.
