2E Loads-a-money and Instructions

In maths this week the children have been learning about British money. They used plastic coins to buy things, such as glue and scissors, from each other and had to work out which coins to use to make the different amounts. Later in the week, they worked out how much change to give if someone paid with a larger coin. Finally, they tried to work out the answers to real-life word problems involving money. This last activity was quite a challenge, so we will be doing more work on this in the coming weeks.

Also this week, the children have been reading and writing simple sets of instructions. Here are some photos of them working collaboratively to label different instructions. The most important rule of this 'game' was that they had to work together and agree on which label went in which place before putting them on the sheet.
