Symmetry and Mountain Ranges in 2C!

This week in 2C, children have been introduced to learning about symmetry. Using simple concepts first, children then enjoyed trying to match up patterns with their symmetrical counterparts on the interactive whiteboard. There was much debate about which were correct and which were not! The class then tried to work out their own symmetrical patterns using mirrors and enthusiastically discussed the results as a class.

In Geography, 2C have been learning about the difference between a hill and a mountain before being introduced to the famous mountain ranges of the world. The class tried to locate the mountain ranges on a blank world map before marking and labelling them. The notion that Mount Everest was over 4000 Mr Chave's stacked on top of each other seemed to boggle their minds!
