Year 2D lay Siege to a castle and heat things up in science.

This week we designed, built and tested battering rams as part of our castles topic. The children then tested the battering rams on walls made from blocks or Lego. They tested their designs and then improved them so that they worked more effectively, it was great fun and there was lots of discussion and inventive thinking going on.

We also heated various substances and observed the changes that took place. We were very careful and there was a strong emphasis on safety. the main focus of the lesson was observation and describing those observations using words and pictures.
