2B Simon Says!

The class started their new English topic today on 'Instruction Writing'. To introduce this we played a game of Simon Says. The children were all extremely good at this and it took a lot of attempts to trick each one until we were left with a remaining winner: Monty! The class explored some of the features of instruction writing such as BOSSY words, VERBS, numbering and TIME words. Their first activity was to give oral instructions to their class mates in order to help them make the same (hidden) pose as the one displayed on the Smartboard. I think you'll agree that they all did a very good job of this! After completing both activities the children wrote their own instructions independently to move the boy from Picture A into the pose of Picture B. They used all of the features we had explored and produced a good first list of instructions.
